BlackBerry Q5 launched in India for Rs24990, to hit markets on July 20 - Daily News & Analysis

Blackberry on Tuesday launched the newest BlackBerry 10 smartphone, the BlackBerry Q5 in India for Rs 24,990. The BlackBerry Q5 is the second hardware keyboard (QWERTY) equipped smartphone running the new BlackBerry 10.1 operating system. The Q5 has a 3.1-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720X720 pixels. It is available in Black, Pure White and Pure Red color models. The company has said that it will offer EMI schemes for the BlackBerry Q5. Managing Director forBlackBerry India,  Sunil Lalvani asserts that this phone will definitely grab eyeball from the youth because of its colouful design. He also thinks that the USP of the new phone is its touchscreen functionality doubled with its classic QWERTY keypad.' With its physical QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen, it gives customers the best of both worlds," he added. The BlackBerry Q5 smartphone comes with the BlackBerry 10.1 software. The new BlackBerry Q5 smartphone is expected to be available from authorized retailers in India starting July 20th. The smartphone is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor along with 2GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. The phone sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front shooter on board. The smartphone also comes with 2,180mAh battery.
