![]() Samsung today announced that its new rugged Galaxy S4 Active smartphone will be sold exclusively via AT&T in the U.S. The device will be available online and in stores starting on June 21 for $199.99 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders begin tomorrow on AT&T's website, and buyers can choose between two colors: urban gray or dive blue. The Galaxy S4 Active will tap into AT&T's 4G LTE network, which is now available in 263 markets. "The Galaxy S 4 Active is a high-performance smartphone with a stylish, protective design to keep up with the demands of everyday life. It's truly summer-proof," Jeff Bradley, senior vice president of Devices and Developer Services at AT&T, said in a statement. Samsung announced the Galaxy S4 Active last week. Like the original Galaxy S4, the Active also features a 5-inch display, 1.9-GHz quad-core processor, and Android 4.2.2. There's a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing one (the original S4 has a 13-megapixel rear-facing cam). The Active has 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB via micro SD. Samsung promised some hands-on time with the Active at its June 20 event in London, which will also reportedly include the launch of an updated Galaxy Camera. Speaking of the Galaxy Camera, Samsung on Wednesday also introduced a version of its Galaxy S4, dubbed Zoom, that is basically a mashup of the Galaxy S4 Mini and the Galaxy Camera. The company hasn't announced any release dates or regions, but the 4.3-inch device includes a 16-megapixel camera and 10x zoom.
