Miiverse artists get color thanks to Art Academy for Wii U - VentureBeat

Nintendo is expanding its tools for its fans that love making art on its Miiverse social network for Wii U.

The company announced today during its Electronic Entertainment Expo edition of Nintendo Direct that it will release a special version of Art Academy for the Wii U this summer that will enable you to upload works directly to the Miiverse community. This will bring a huge amount of colors and tools to what was previously a very basic drawing system.

Nintendo also intends to release a full version of Art Academy later this year.

Currently, fans can only draw in black-and-white on Wii U, but this hasn't stopped them from creating some amazing works of arts.

Nintendo's Miiverse is a Facebook-like service that has a community for all released Wii U games and some of the bigger Nintendo franchises. It enables gamers to post within games as well so that they can offer comments and hints to friends as they play through games.
