Couple of weeks back, GizBot reported about soon to arrive Amazon tablets in India and now they have already landed in the Indian soil. Moreover, Amazon Kindle Fire HD with 7 inch display and Kindle Fire HD with 8.9 inch display carry the same price that we have earlier mentioned, i.e Rs. 15,999 and Rs. 21,999 respectively. Obviously, the tablets can now be purchased from Amazon.in. The Amazon is also selling the 32 GB variant of both the Kindle Fire HD with 7 and 8.9 inch display at Rs. 18,999 and Rs. 25,999 respectively. But all these devices are currently selling from Chroma retail through Amazon.in. Recently launched in India, Amazon started selling smartphones and other electronic products just a day ago and it has already listed their very own Kindle HD tablets. But considering the demand of tablets in India, it is likely to receive a good reaction from the users. Going by the specs, here is a brief rundown on both devices: The 7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet features an In-plane Switching(IPS) HD LCD touchscreen display with 1280x800 pixel resolution. The screen offers 215.6 ppi pixel density. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet comes with 8.9-inch touchscreen display supporting 1920x1200 pixel resolution and 254 ppi. However, the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD is slightly thinner than the 7 inch variant. Kindle Fire HD 7-inch tablet is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor and Imagination SGX540 GPU. It weighs 395 grams and is powered by a 4400mAh battery rated at 11 hours of usage. Kindle Fire HD 8.9 comes with a pixel density of 254 pixels per inch and a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. It is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Imagination SGX544 GPU, weighs 567 grams and is powered by a 6000mAh battery rated at 10 hours of usage. The Kindle Fire HD comes in 16 GB and 32 GB on-board storage options and will have a front facing camera capable of supporting front-facing Skype video calls in HD resolution. Both tablets come with 1GB of RAM, dual-band Wi-Fi, Dolby Audio with dual stereo speakers, Bluetooth 3.0, and are available in 16GB and 32GB variants. The tablets run a highly customized version of Android 4.0.3 with apps available through Amazon's Appstore, instead of Google Play. Kindle Fire HD tablets can also consume content from Amazon's large library of audio, video and books content. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD will be offered in the WiFi only version with 16 GB and 32 GB on-board storage options. However Amazon will also offer WiFi+4G LTE versions with 32 GB and 64 GB on-board storage. On top of that, Amazon also has the advantage of having a lot of accessible contents, hence it can be expected to become popular soon. Amazon has a pretty good specs incorporated in the two tablets except the Android version but it has priced both the tablets in a perfect range. The Kindle Fire HD is likely to have a tough competition with iPad Mini (in case of 8.9 inch version) and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 in case of 7 inch version, Huawei MediaPad 10 Link Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100, Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite Tablet and Asus MeMO Pad ME172V Tablet. Here is a brief rundown on the specs of the top 5 competitors of Kindle Fire HD tablet: iPad mini sports a 7.9 inches LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors display with the resolution of 768 x 1024 pixels and pixel density of 162 ppi. Apple's iPad mini is powered by a 16.3 Watt Lithium - Polymer battery. The device is priced currently at Rs. 21,900 on Flipkart.
