The Blackberry Q10 is the answer to a BB loyalist's prayers—a thoroughly modern OS that's far easier to use than the earlier versions, a fast, powerful phone with a fantastic screen, and a keyboard that feels tough and is comfortable to use. Unfortunately, there are some caveats, such as the small 3.1-inch screen size, which doesn't matter while using email or Twitter, but certainly hurts web browsing. Or the gaps in the app store—BB10 launched with a bigger catalogue of apps than any other platform, but it is still lacking some key apps. And the biggest issue of course, is the price—at Rs.44,500, you're paying as much or more than you would for the latest iPhone, or the Samsung Galaxy S4, both of which are very impressive phones. The Q10 is running on the BB10 OS, which means it uses the same system of gestures to control the interface that the Z10 does. This worked well on a full touchscreen device like the Z10, but with the Q10, the constant switching between keyboard and screen can be a little irritating, and breaks the flow of the device. The overall experience is incredibly smooth—the phone is super responsive. Inside there's a 1.5Ghz CPU and 2GB of RAM, along with 16GB of storage, and while the screen is small, it's running at a 720X720 resolution which looks super crisp. All of this combines to deliver an excellent user experience. It helps that the outer body also feels premium. There is no question that the Blackberry Q10 is a top end phone—and for a business user, who wants it to work on documents, typing out long emails, editing a presentation or checking for their news updates, it's got a lot to offer. All things considered though, the experience isn't as coherent as that of the Blackberry Z10, and the keyboard is also responsible for the small, and eventually unsatisfying screen. ![]() via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNFZaCr_mUq7TIzj2fGGS5YR8ueLgQ&url=http://www.livemint.com/Leisure/tHvNugetGRED8qXjUnCY9J/Gizmo-Guru--The-best-keyboard-on-a-modern-smartphone.html | |||
