We reported in detail when Fiat India decided to discontinue selling the Fiat Linea T-Jet in Indian car market. It may be noted that thanks to ever increasing petrol prices, Indian car buying lot has shifted its focus to diesel powered cars. In such a scenario, the demand for high performance petrol powered cars is next to non-existent and only the most enthusiastic of the drivers are ready to put their money on a performance oriented petrol car which is high on performance but not really high on fuel economy. Similar is the case with Fiat Linea T-Jet in Indian market. In a segment where majority of sales come from the diesel variants, the performance variant of the Linea C segment sedan has hardly found any takers. We posted with a heavy heart when Linea T-Jet was taken off the shelves in India. Fiat India has finally decided to re-start playing Santa and will launch the 2013 Linea T-Jet in Indian market today. Seen here is an image showing details of Linea T-Jet. These details accidently surfaced on Fiat India's website almost a month back. With the re-launch, the Fiat Linea T-jet would again become the least priced turbocharged petrol sedan in the country. Powering the Fiat Linea T-Jet is a 1.4 litres, 4 cylinder, direct injection, turbocharged T-Jet petrol engine that has a max power output of 114PS @ 5000 rpm and has a peak torque figure of 207Nm @ 2200 rpm. In its second innings, the Linea T-Jet will hardly come with any visual changes. However, the car will get an increased ground clearance. The Dynamic variant will come with 15 inch wheels and will have an increased ground clearance of 185 mm (vs 170mm earlier). The Linea T-Jet Emotion gets 16 inch wheels and a ground clearance of 190 mm. This means that the Emotion variant of the Linea will become the car with the highest ground clearance in its class.
