Here are the latest numbers from Apple on product sales and more, courtesy of the company's Worldwide Developers Conference. Mac installations: 72 million, more than double the number from five years ago Mac sales: Have risen 100 percent over the past five years, vs just 18 percent for Windows PCs Mountain Lion sales: 28 million since its debut, making it the best selling release of Apple's desktop OS Apps in App Store: 900,000 apps Number of apps geared for the iPad: 375,000 Number of apps downloaded since the the App store opened five years ago: 50 billion Number of store accounts in the App Store: 575 million Amount Apple has paid developers to date: $10 billion Amount paid just this year: $5 billion Number of Apple retails stores around the world: 407 Number of customers who visit an Apple Store each day: 1 million This is a developing story that will be expanded shortly.
