Google Glass gets an update: Google Plus feature, battery improvements - Firstpost

According to a report by Phandroid, the update was sent over the air and dubbed XE5 to owners of the XEB model on Tuesday night. The update has given Glass incoming notifications from Google Plus, including the ability to comment on posts, share directly from Glass, get notifications of +1 mentions and the ability to +1 one posts. Glass will also get Hangout notifications. It seems the new update also comes with a change to the sync policy which requires the device to be plugged in and have WiFi access for any background uploads to take place. However the device is unlikely to hit the stores before 2014. In a recent interview to BBC Radio, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt had indicated that the device won't be out till 2014. He said, "There will be thousands of [Google Glass] in use by developers over the next months, and then based on their feedback, we'll make some product changes, and it's probably a year-ish away."
