General Motors to launch Chevrolet Enjoy on May 9? - India Today

General Motors India is all set to launch its Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Chevrolet Enjoy on May 9. The new car is stated to be one of Chevrolet India's three products borrowed from China's GM-SAIC joint venture. The Price of the car is expected between Rs 6.75 lakh and Rs 9 lakh. According to reports, Chevrolet Enjoy, originally called the Wuling Enjoy MPV, is likley to give a tough competition to Mahindra Xylo and Tata Winger. The car will be powered by a 1.3-litre multi-jet engine from FIAT and will also feature 175/65 R14 tyres, made for the Indian roads. Speaking to mediapersons, Sastry Vempati, vice president, product planning, General Motors India, said that Sail Sedan, the first launch of the year and the MPV would establish the company as a key competitor. The Chevrolet Sail sedan was launched in India with a starting price of Rs.4.99 lakh. It has so far managed to garner over 7000 bookings. The sedan is a boot on hatc h version of the Sail U-VA hatchback. The Sail sedan has reportedly fared far better by selling almost a 1000 units over its hatchback sibling. The auto experts, however, feel that the Sail sedan would face a tough competition with the launch of Honda Amaze sedan.
