The new MPV launch by GM is expected to add sales volume for the company, which has been struggling despite new launches. The Enjoy's price is Rs 40,000 to Rs 70,000 cheaper than its key competitor, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which sells about 5,000 to 6,000 units a month. Available in four different variants, with 7 and 8 seater configuration, the 1.4 litre petrol powered Enjoy is priced at Rs 5.49 lakh to Rs 6.99 lakh, whereas the 1.3 litre diesel powered Enjoy is priced between Rs 6.69 lakh to Rs. 7.99 lakh P Balendran, VP, General Motors India said, "Enjoy is positioned in the fastest growing Utility Vehicle space. With its features and aggressive prices, we hope to get good response from the market." GM India is aiming to sell about 3,500 units per month of Enjoy. The company expects 80% of its overall sales to come from the diesel segment and the balance 20% from petrol. The Utility Vehicle space grew by over 52% in FY-13 with sales of close to half a million units, Balendran says despite the sluggish environment, the company expects the UV space to grow by 10% in FY-14. Available in six different colours, Enjoy comes with dual tone interiors, wood and finish AC vents. It boasts of features like tilt adjustable steering, 12V power outlet in 3rd row, front and rear power windows, power adjustable OVRM and height adjustable driver seat. On folding the third-row seat, the MPV offers a luggage space of 630 litres. The Enjoy will be produced at the company's Halol plant in Gujarat. The company has positioned it below Tavera making it the second MPV in GM India's portfolio. The company says, this new vehicle won't cannabalise into Tavera. "Both these vehicles fall in different price bracket and will cater to different buyers," added Balendran. Chevrolet Enjoy MPV will take on everything from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga to the likes of the Toyota Innova. The Enjoy is smaller than likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Nissan Evalia but larger than the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNFprqSwYpWhvc8uGblOPMHsg-30Nw&url=http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2013-05-09/news/39143989_1_general-motors-india-tavera-maruti-suzuki-ertiga | |||
