UCWeb eyes top spot in Indian mobile browser market - Times of India

China-based mobile internet browser company UCWeb today said it aims to become the number one mobile browser in the country by the end of this year.

"We currently hold more than 25% of market share of the mobile browser market in India. We aim to become the number one browser by end of 2013," UCWeb India managing director Kenny Ye told reporters in New Delhi.

The company today unveiled the new version of its mobile internet browser, UCWeb 9.0, for Android-based mobile phones and 2.0 for iPad version.

The comp any said it has a user base of over 400 million across 150 countries.

Terming India as its second headquarter, UCWeb president and co-founder Xiaopeng He said the company will focus on video and download as a key differentiator to achieve leadership position in India.
