TV viewing gets smarter - Times of India

That's been the case with one of India's largest electronics companies, Samsung Electronics. The company, which has products like home appliances, ACs, televisions, smartphones and computers, among others, recently announced the launch of its new Smart TV lineup that includes the premium Smart TV Series 8 and 7.

Bollywood actress Yami Gautam was at the launch in Bangalore and was enthusiastic about the Smart TV range. "While the Series 8 is stunning, I love the 85" Samsung Ultra High Definition TV, which is the ultimate blend of technology and craftsmanship. The images have beautiful detail, unmatched clarity and vivid real-life picture quality," she said.
Also at the event was SK Kim, senior vice-president, Consumer Electronics, Samsung India, who said, "Our 2013 Smart TV range has the best in class design, superior performance and feature innovations that our customers love. These products have given users a reason to upgrade their existing TVs, as they discover effortless, intuitive ways to share more content while creating the ultimate home entertainment experience."
The Samsung Series 8 and 7 come with a quad-core process or and are available in 40-65 inch screen sizes. The Smart TVs offer more vibrant pictures with richer colours, deeper black levels and higher contrasts. They provide advanced Smart Interaction, responding to your motion and voice, making it easier for you to navigate and control your TV. The Samsung Smart TV range is available in screen sizes between 32" and 75" priced between `37,900 and `7,50,000. For users of the 2012 Samsung Series 7 and 8 Smart TVs, the company will make available an evolution kit that provides both processor as well as software and hardware updates and transforms the set's dual-core CPU to quad-core, resulting in faster internal processing speeds.
