Mahindra Verito goes electric, to launch within a year. - On Cars India

Electric version of Maxximo to be launched too! 

Launch of the Mahindra Reva e2o was the first proper step in the right direction. The car looks good, is practical enough to be used as a city car and most importantly, it runs on electricity. But while the sales of the e2o are yet to pick up, seeing people's interest in the technology, Mahindra today announced that an electric version of the Verito is being readied and shall be launched within a year.

Mahindra is in the process of investing close to Rs 150 crore to develop electric versions of three of its popular products: Gio, Maxximo and Verito. Mahindra & Mahindra President (Automotive and FES) Pawan Goenka said that while electric Gio and Maxximo are almost ready, a prototype for the electric Verito has been made too.

Right now the company is busy assessing the market's response to the e2o and once that's done, electric versions of the Gio and Maxximo will roll out, while the Verito will be launched within a year.
