Press Trust of India | Bangalore April 5, 2013 Last Updated at 20:10 IST The Karnataka High Court today extended the deadline till April 8 for cable operators in the state to install Set Top Boxes (STBs). Justice Abdul Nazeer accepted the plea of Mysore District Cable Operators' Association seeking extension of the deadline beyond today. The court also directed the Union Government not to switch off the analog channels till April 8. On April 1, the court had directed the Central government to ensure that analog channels were not switched off in the state till April 5. The association has pleaded for more time, saying they have sought information from the Multi-System Operators on the selling and package cost of the STBs. As part of the second phase of the digitisation of TV viewing, the Centre had set March 31 as deadline for installation of STBs in 38 cities. ![]() via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNG8Ixiwxr5WXoS81T6zXomk_dpHcQ&url=http://www.business-standard.com/article/pti-stories/hc-extends-deadline-till-apr-8-for-installation-of-stbs-113040500453_1.html | |||
