India's largest auto rickshaw maker Bajaj believes that it is the next best thing to happen in the market and is working out an elaborate plan to introduce the quadricycle in association with leading European carmaker Renault Nissan. Though things are not very clear as to how people will classify it and what is the prospective market for it, the leading bike and three wheeler manufacturer is very excited about the prospects and success of the quadricycle in the Indian and foreign market. Pune based company is not just the biggest three wheeler company in the world it is also the third largest bike maker in the world as well. Its auto rickshaws or three-wheelers are exported to many countries across the world and this can be found on roads of Colombo to Durban and many other Asian and African countries. Now the company is associating itself on launching the quadricycle in association with Renault Nissan. Now with government close to giving its nod to the new vehicle category quadricycle the company is almost ready to go and start manufacturing its RE60. Company CEO Rajiv Bajajwhile detailing his plan for RE60 says, "We have been in touch with them (Renault-Nissan) for the last four-five years and have provided whatever information they wanted. At no point did they say 'no' to the project. We have never looked beyond Renault-Nissan…Partnership was not about their technology. It was our technology and we would have tapped into their marketing network in Europe".
