Samsung gets trolled by LG with Optimus G ads - CNET Asia

(Credit: Engadget)

LG has taken a jab at Samsung over its Times Square ad--the friendly enemy decided to change its billboards to mock the Galaxy S4 teaser ads, conveniently located below. As reported by Engadget, LG's ads poke fun at Samsung's "Be ready 4 the next Galaxy" messaging with its own the "LG Optimus G is here 4 you now!". LG has occupied the space above the Samsung ad for 20 over years, apparently.

That's not the only missile flying out of LG's offices today. The company announced earlier today that eye-tracking software would be available in its 5.5-inch phablet, the Optimus G Pro, to show that Samsung isn't the only one with eye-tracking software for smartphones.

Whether LG can outspend Samsung in marketing though, is another issue altogether. Samsung has taken a huge lead in the Android handset market, mostly due to its massive spending on advertising. But props to LG for reacting quickly to take the mickey out of its rival with a cheeky message.
