Reviewing Nokia Lumia 920 - TruthDive

With Lumia 920, Nokia aims to bounce back after it has lost the premium status in the Smartphone race and measure up to the popular ones- Apple and Samsung. After the launch of Lumia 820, Nokia rolls out Lumia 920, not leaving any stones unturned to win back the lost fame.

First Looks

A glimpse of the device and you will notice that it is huge. However, the screen size is not as large as the Galaxy Note II. Lumia 920 is bulkier and heavier and makes it slightly less comfortable to hold it in your hand. Stunning in looks, the Smartphone is 0.4 inches thick along the sides, holding on to its typical flat look. Sporting a uniform body design, the phone has its entire key buttons positioned on the right side that includes power/screen lock, activation/shutter/ release button and others.

Display

Nokia Lumia 920 rides on its vivid and crisp display, boasting of a resolution of 726X1280 pixels wherein the display measures 4.5 inch paving the way for an enhanced viewing experience. The Pure Motion HD+ display along with Clearback technology synergistically offers immense legibility and clarity, not to forget its ICS LCD panel. The touch sensibility is also among the finest.

Features and Performance

With the latest Windows 8, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and hence, would be a perfect bet for the ones who are highly enthusiastic about using the new operating system. Apart from endowing you an improved performance, the device comes pre- loaded with a number of cool apps that include Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, Nokia Apps, Nokia Care, and Nokia City Lens. Speaking about the connectivity options, it does not offer LTE in India and hence we have no options but to depend on NFC and Bluetooth.

Camera

While the front facing camera does not do more than serving to be bells and whistles for the device, the 8.7 megapixel rear camera clicks beautiful images as it comes with a floating senses technology. Low light conditions are not an obstacle allowing you to capture your memorable moments and come handy when you are partying or clubbing. The introduction of camera lenses is also an appreciable feature.

Performance / Battery Life

The wireless charging abilities of the device is an eye- popping feature. While many have tried it before, Nokia Lumia is quite successful in rolling it out. Running on a 2000mAh battery, the Smartphone will have enough battery juice to run for a day, despite the apps working on the background.

Verdict

Apart from the hefty price tag, nothing should stop one from opting for this phone that rides on great looks, solid performance, and a nice piece of hardware.

Who does not have feet of clay? Nokia seemed no different when it lost the Smartphone race. However, the manufacturer now has all its eyes on Lumia 920 and banks on it, to reclaim the lost ground.
