Nexus 7 available on Google Play store in India: Price, specs & features - Northern Voices Online

Nine months after its international launch Google Nexus 7 is available on Google Play store in India. Here we take a look at its price, specs and features

So far there was no great tablet in India available in sub Rs 16000 price band. Though there are many tablets flooding the market but they come from unknown entities without any guarantee of service or a history of good products. From top tablet manufacturers, iPad Mini was the only 'cheap' tablet that cost around Rs 22000 for its lowest version without even 3G. There was no choice for people looking forward to some reasonably priced tabs that came with top class quality. But this is going to be solved with the introduction of search giant Google's small 7 inch tablet Google Nexus 7.

The tablet comes with very good specifications and its 7 inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 800 resolution with 216 ppi looks stunning, to say the least. As far as processor is concerned its NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30L, Quad core, 1200 MHz, ARM Cortex-A9 processor is among the best in the class and with 1GB RAM makes multi-tasking look the easiest task in the world.

There are several pluses as far as Google's Asus manufactured Nexus 7 is concerned. Launched with very reasonably price tag of Rs 15999, the tablet comes with impeccable features and display quality that has made it the biggest threat to the dominance of Cupertino based Apple's smaller 8-inch tablet iPad Mini across the world. Google Nexus 7 despite being comparatively very reasonably priced comes with better display quality than Apple's smaller tablet that is devoid of retina display. had Google not faced supply issue in the initial stage after its market launch, it would have been far successful product than it is now. Despite people awaiting its launch in different markets across the world Google was unable to fulfil the demand due to supply constraints. Indian tech fans too had to wait for many long months and now only it is available here.

Sometimes ago the same tab was introduced in the market, but with pretty huge price tag of around Rs 19000. Due to the high price, it didn't find many takers. With its new price tag and the fact that its 16 GB version is available for just Rs 15999, thousands and thousands of people are set to fall for it immediately. Since the launch of Google's Nexus 7 and Apple's iPad Mini in the market both the tabs are locked in a fierce battle. This has been the best and most successful experiment of search giant Google in tablet and smart-phone market and has given it a sort of respectability in small tablet market. But while Apple's iPad Mini is available in the Indian market for months, Google delayed the launch of its Nexus 7 here due to some supply issues. But things seem to be looking sorted out as far as supply issue is concerned, and search giant seems to be preparing for next generation Nexus 7.
