Hyderabad: With the March 31 deadline for mandatory installation of set-top boxes (STBs) to avail cable TV services in the city ending on Sunday, it is still uncertain if the new rule is applicable only to Hyderabad city or the GHMC limits. Television sets without STBs in lakhs of households will go blank from Monday, but it is unclear in exactly which areas this will happen. Several areas are in the city, but come under the limits of Ranga Reddy and Medak districts. No one knows if people in these areas can avail of cable TV services in the absence of STBs. Meanwhile, cable operators have demanded an extension of the deadline. ![]() via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNGzfE2Yha4nI6GBHncAflCivJlLyw&url=http://www.deccanchronicle.com/130331/news-current-affairs/article/deadline-set-top-box-ends | |||
