Airtel launches 4G service in Chandigarh - Financial Express

Airtel.jpg After Kolkata, Bangalore and Pune, Bharti Airtel today rolled out its fourth generation (4G) technology-based wireless broadband service for prepaid and postpaid customers in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.

The new technology allows high speed internet services that include high definition video streaming and instant photo and video downloads. As an introductory offer, Airtel also announced discounts for early birds. He informed that as an introductory offer break free service will be available at Rs 999 with a monthly bill discount of Rs 167 for six months or totalling Rs 999.The multi mode dongle and indoor CPE with wi-fi would be available at Rs 4999 each.

Launching the service, Jagbir Singh, CTO and Director, Network Service Group, Bharti Airtel said that the new technology will allow high speed internet services that include high definition video streaming and instant photo and video downloads.

He said that the "much awaited launch of 4G service fulfills a huge market requirement and will give customers the power to upgrade to cutting edge 4G LTE technology."

He claimed that this was the "most advanced wireless broadband experience available across the globe today. He clarified that this was purely a data service and voice service may be launched at a later stage.
