Huawei Ascend D2, LG Optimus G, Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z are among top handsets of 2013 and all are set to come with FullHD display

The year 2013 is going to be very exciting for smart-phone lovers. There are so many handsets being launched every other day that we are sort of forgetting the numbers and names. But then there are many handsets that are sure to catch our eyes with their world class specs and features. Though many smart-phone makers from almost every part of the world have introduced a number of handsets in the market there are few that can take our breath away with superb designs and top features.

One of the great handsets that we are going to get in the weeks or within one or two months is none other than Samsung's next generation flagship handset for the year 2013 Galaxy S4. The Korean tech giant that has become the biggest smart-phone manufacturer in the world is very close to introducing its next gen flagship handset that is sure to come with many substantial improvements over the existing flagship handset Galaxy S3. Sammy has sold around 45 million units of S3 in the last ten months following its launch in May last year. The Galaxy S4 is among the most awaited handsets right now. But it is not the only one people are waiting for. There are several handsets including Sony Xperia Z, LG Optimus G Pro, Huawei Ascend D2 that have been either launched or will be introduced in the market very shortly.

Samsung Galaxy S4 is surely going to outsell Galaxy S3. Samsung is hoped to launch the device in a March media event in New York. As per credible sources, it is to come out with a 4.9-inch FullHD sAMOLED display that Samsung released at CES. It is to get power from a highly powerful ARM Cortex-A15-based Exynos Octa chip. It is also to sport a 13MP rear camera and many other advanced features. The S4 is likely to become the first phone to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean besides the Google Nexus devices.

Sony Xperia Z is another handset that is simply superb. This is the next major Android phone from the Japanese tech firm. Rumored as the Xperia Yuga, the device has come out with an official name of Xperia Z. Apart from a mere top-end phone, the device is a dust and water proof machine also. It enjoys IP57 certification so that you can put it in water and even use in rough conditions. Going by specs, the Z has many things that make it unique. It sports a 5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen that features a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 441-ppi. Under the hood, the new Sony phone features a 1.5GHz Krait quad core Qualcomm MDM9215M/APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM, Adreno 320 GPU and 16GB of internal memory. The device runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and it can be upgraded to 4.2 Jelly Bean. Released at CES 2013, the device is expected for shipping in March for a price around $750 SIM free.

LG Optimus G Pro is being touted as one of the best. Put it simply, Optimus G Pro is LG's candidate against both the new line of FHD phones and Samsung's Galaxy Note. The device has a 1080p screen that is sized at 5.5 inches. In one sense, LG has planned the device as a rival against the new row of smartphone, while it is also a competitor against the potential new generation Galaxy Note 3. Its larger display is the major point that puts the device different in market. Going to its specs, the Optimus G Pro is rich with a powerful 1.7GHz quad core Qualcomm MDM9615/APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM and Adreno 320 graphical processor. For data storage, it mounts 32GB of memory and it is to run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.  It has 13MP rear camera, 4G LTE, NFC and more as special features. There is no clue about its pricing.

Another great handset, though it doesn't come from top manufacturers is Huawei Ascend D2. This is basically the second upgrade to Huawei's Ascend D line of flagship Android phones. Announced at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, the device is to come with a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 441-ppi. The device is to boast features like a 1.5GHz quad core Huawei K3V2 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera and more.

The one handset that is making most noise right now is HTC One. It is a just confirmed phone. But, it is one of the most innovative handsets of the time. To be displayed at MWC 2013, the One is simply an upgrade to the company's last year flagship the One X. Aside from all the above phones, the One comes with a small 4.7-in 1080p display so that it offers a whopping 469-inch pixel density. It is to pack a 1.7GHz quad core Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 320 GPU. The device will come in two memory variants; 32GB and 64GB. Everyone is saying that it is the best handset launched in the market till date.
