Just 2 months back, Samsung slashed prices of the Galaxy range of phones in India following the release of iPhone 5 in December. In what might be one of the quickest cuts for flagship devices, Samsung once again revised prices. Whether it's the heat of Apple sales, upcoming MWC where better devices are expected to be launched or the entry of stiff competition in the India market, buys are the one to benefit for the sudden drop. The 16 GB variant of Galaxy S III is now priced at 29,480 (available online at cheaper rates) while it was originally launched at Rs 43,000. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note II which was launched at Rs 39,900 is now officially available for Rs 35,600. Online prices are cheaper and thdevice can be bought for as low as 34,000. Though both devices are performing extremely well and have crossed the 5 million sales mark, the sudden drop in prices might reveal that not all is well with the leading smart-phone maker. Or perhaps Samsung just wants to give lovers another reason to celebrate and has slashed prices for the coming V-Day. Whatever the reason, we like to believe that MWC is the cause and Samsung perhaps has a Note III coming or a new flagship device that might warrant the change of prices.
