| The Honda CR-V is a well recognized brand name in Indian car market. The CR-V soft roader, which used to be available with 2 petrol engine options, used to sell in good nos. in our car market and was one of the highest selling premium crossovers at that time. However, sales of CR-V saw a huge downfall with the advent of diesel engined competitors and sky rocketing petrol prices. Honda is now all set to introduce the all new generation of its CR-V in Indian car market and quite surprisingly, will rely again on two petrol engine options for the new vehicle. Pretty brave indeed. The all new Honda CR-V will be launched in our fast evolving car market on 12th February and here is all you might want to know about the all new car. The all new CR-V, which will take the mantle of being Honda India's flagship product from the Accord sedan, is an all new design and isn't merely a facelift. Honda has done a good job with the styling and only those with an I.Q. of a cauliflower will mistake the new CR-V for some other vehicle. That said, every panel of the new CR-V is different from that of the older version and the styling of the new car is a study in evolution. The car is being expected to go on sale with a price tag of around INR 25 lakhs for the top end variant and INR 20 lakhs for the entry level variant. The new CR-V, which is underpinned by an all new platform, will offer more space and features than its predecessor. Engine options for the new Honda CR-V consist of two gasoline burners- A 156 PS, 2.0-liter iVTEC petrol motor for the entry-level 2WD variants and a bigger 190PS, 2.4-liter iVTEC motor with 4wd for the high end models. The bigger engine comes with an automatic transmission ONLY and there are no plans of a manual transmission for this engine variant in near future. The features list on the base 2.0litre engine variant includes- 17" alloys, fog lamps, 6 airbags, audio system with USB and iPod connectivity, and independent dual zone automatic climate control. The 2.4 AT with Real Time 4WD gets a sunroof, HID headlamps with washer, paddle shifters, chrome door handles, 6.1" touchscreen multimedia infotainment system with CD/DVD players, Bluetooth connectivity and hands-free telephony, navigation and reverse parking camera. Honda India will also offer two exterior styling packages with the Honda CRV- A 'Inspire' kit which consists of a dash of chrome, scuff plates for the door sills and a tailgate spoiler. The 'Elegance' package gets only the chrome bits and misses out on the spoiler and the running board. via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNF0QiiCVfLi-3WHlkvX5DAY4BCXaQ&url=http://motoroids.com/news/all-new-honda-cr-v-review-launch-in-india-images-details-and-specs/ | |||
