Micromax A116 Canvas HD, Samsung Galaxy Grand and Lava Xolo A1000 - Northern Voices Online

Samsung Galaxy Grand, Micromax A116 Canvas HD and Lava Xolo A1000 are making waves across the world. The trio come with almost similar specs and features and are sure to compete for the same space in the market. The first to be launched in the market was South Korean tech giant Samsung's Galaxy Grand Duos that, though comes with 5 inch body, it doesn't have the same sort of power and display that are usually the part of high end smartphones like Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 or even Galaxy S2.

But its body looks impressive from outset. The same is true about the other two handsets. But notwithstanding the inferior specifications and features, the three handsets are going to take centre-stage in the Indian market for their specs and their price range. Indian consumers being very price sensitive will certainly be going in large numbers to get one of these handsets. The fact that they are very affordable –at least Lava Xolo and Canvas HD as both come with Rs 13999 and Rs 13990 price tag respectively –and come with specifications that make the phablets very attractive. It is true that a person who wants to go for iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will not go for the trio, nonetheless a person who wants to go for his first smart-phone, these will give him or her great choice.

To be true, the best of the lot seems to be Micromax A116 Canvas HD. The Canvas HD that is priced at Rs 13990 comes with best specs. Micromax A116 Canvas HD comes with an impressive screen of 5-inch HD IPS with a resolution of 1280×720 and 16.7 million color depths. As far as its processor is concerned, it is powered by MediaTek's MT6589 1.2 GHz quad core processor and runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system. It also has an excellent battery that ensures good battery life. Besides it has a very impressive 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via micro SD support. So both the bhndsets come with good value for money and Indian consumers are simply loving it.

Korean tech giant's Grand seems very beautiful and is manufactured with the same plastic material that has been used in manufacturing Galaxy S3 and Note 2. On the specifications front, the Galaxy Grand packs in a winner at the competitive price point it is being offered. Galaxy Grand Duos or Galaxy Grand I9082 has a 5 inch WVGA TFT screen which has a resolution of 480×800, which is quite low considering the large screen size. The phablet device is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It is needless to convey but this Galaxy family phone also is based on the latest Android OS, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz interface is also maintained.

Other specs of Grand are rather good. It has 8GB memory in-built which is expandable to 64GB with the support of a microSD card. Samsung's camera quality has always been impressive and this phablet too is designed to impress with a 8MP rear camera, and a 2MP camera in the front. The video recording can be done in full HD at 1080p resolution.  It also has the other regular features like Bluetooth 4.0, 3G and WiFi. The Galaxy series of devices have often been credited among the best battery backup gadgets. To feed all the requirements of so many functions and applications Samsung has fit in a 2100mAh battery in Grand Duos which will comfortably last long. But notwithstanding its drawbacks, the handset has many attribute that will force people to go for it and actually love it. So allow the users the privilege to decide for them and let them tell the word if they liked it.

On the other hand Lava's latest handset is also impressive. It is power packed. There is no doubt about it. As far as specs are concerned the phablet packs in enough power to run the huge handset. It comes with a rather good 5-inch 720p IPS display (1280×720) and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 processor. It comes with 1GB RAM, an 8-megapixel autofocus camera on the back side of the handset and a 1.2-megapixel camera in the front. It comes with 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 32GB via microSD.
