SOUTH KOREAN HARDWARE FIRM LG has announced three new smartphones ahead of Mobile World Congress, as yet more companies avoid the rush at the Barcelona mobile conference. The L Series II, as its name suggests, is the range succeeding last year's LG L Series, and comprises the L3II, L5II and L7II. As you'd expect, the LG Optimus L7II is the most exciting handset of the bunch. However, it's not quite on a par with its top-end rivals, as it features a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm processor, a 4.3in WVGA touchscreen and 4GB of included storage. Saying that, there's also Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system, a decent 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2,460mAh battery. LG has yet to reveal specifications for the likely more affordable LG Optimus L5II and L3II handsets, but we're likely to hear more at MWC. We do know, however, that all three handsets will boast new design features, consisting of what LG calls "a seamless layout, laser cut contour, radiant rear design and smart LED lighting". The trio of smartphones will also feature a number of software features such as Quickmemo and a Quick button that allows users to personalise a hot key for any application, Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said, "LG has a history of pushing the envelope when it comes to style and Optimus L Series II builds on this heritage of design innovation. "By evolving the sophisticated style and premium features of the original Optimus L Series, its sequel is expected to continue the popularity of the L Series around the world." We'll be at MWC next month, where we hope to be able to get our mitts on LG's trio of L Series II smartphones. µ ![]() via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNE7SBP6fbTTiaYyQLxQNVj-9RCw3w&url=http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2243125/lg-outs-optimus-l-series-ii-ahead-of-mwc | |||
