(Credit: Google)Getting lost on the ski slopes just got a bit harder, thanks to an update to Google Maps that offers information for 38 new resorts in the United States and Canada. Squaw Valley, Big Sky, and Okemo are among the resorts featured in the first set of slopes to be included in Maps. It's the latest in a series of improbable things to be mapped by Google's team, following the Grand Canyon, North Korea, and the Great Barrier Reef. Taken together, the unusual maps send a message to Google's competitors: Nobody takes this more seriously than we do, and nobody's as good at it as we are.
Maps even offers Street View for 13 courses, letting armchair athletes get a good view of the trails without ever leaving their homes. Whistler Peak, Squaw Valley and Deer Valley are among those in cluded in the first batch.
