GM launches Chevrolet Sail sedan - Hindustan Times

General Motors India today indicated that its Chevrolet Sail sedan, launched here today, will capture more than 20 per cent premium Sedan market. Photo: PTI/Shailendra Bhojak Speaking at the launch here, GM India Vice President P Balendran said that more than 80 per cent of the parts were indeginiously made and the Sail embodied the bold pioneering spirit and ingenuity that have become the hallmark of Chevrolet. Referring to the repo rate revision by Reserve Bank of India recently, he said that '25 basis point will not halep the Car industry which is facing sluggish market.  Minimum 100 to 150 basis points can only give boost to the segment.' 'The reason for sluggish market is aalso due to people waiting for the Budget announcement in the months from Janauary to March,' he added. The new Chevrolet Sail, which is available both in Diesel and petrol, comes in seven colours and price starts from Rs. 4.95 lakhs to Rs. 7.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
