Asus MeMo Pad Landing In UK In Both 7 Inch and 10 Inch Models - 3G.co.uk

The Asus MeMo Pad was unveiled back in January , but until now we weren't sure whether it would ever become available in the UK. Thankfully, we've now learnt that both 7 inch and 10 inch versions of the MeMo Pad will be available to buy in the UK from March 7th.   Asus have a long history in the tablet market and have even produced the best selling Google Nexus 7. Interestingly, the new MeMo Pad's looks set to compete directly with both Google's Nexus 7 and the larger Nexus 10 , which is made by Samsung.   How does the Asus MeMo Pad compare to Google's Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 ?   Firstly, we should point out that both versions of Asus's MeMo Pad tablets are priced below the equivalent Nexus models.  The 7 inch MeMo Pad will be priced at £129 while the 10 inch model will come in at £249, which compares to £159 and £319 for the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 respectively.   Therefore, as you'd expect the MeMo Pad tablets have a slightly lower specification than Google's tablets. Consequently those looking for high-end devices should choose Google's range over the MeMo Pad , but people looking to spent a bit less might want to checkout Asus's new tablets.   The 7 inch Asus MeMo Pad's display runs at a resolution of 1024*600 pixels which isn't cutting edge, but offers more than enough clarity for a display of this size. Whereas, the 10 inch version has an IPS display running at a 1280*800 pixel resolution.   Both tablets are powered by a quad-core Nvidia's Tegra 3 processor and come pre-loaded with Android Jelly Bean. You'll get access to 16GB of on-board memory which can be expanded using the SDHC memory cards.   Asus's tablet also has a couple of cameras with both a rear-facing 5 mega-pixel snapper and a front-facing 1.2 mega-pixel camera present.
