Asked about the reason for the stock problems, Cathy Robin, director of LG Mobile in France, blamed Google's poor estimates. In December, Dan Cobley, Google's UK and Ireland managing director said the Nexus 4 shortages were because "supplies from the manufacturer are scarce and erratic, and our communication has been flawed". Though the Nexus 4 has been almost constantly sold out since November, it is possible to buy one on a contract from a mobile network. However, that would end up costing more than the £239 price of the unlocked handset direct from Google. Last week, LG said that the Nexus 4 was "the first of many" products the Korean firm had planned with Google, sparking rumours that the company was set to launch a Nexus 5, perhaps as soon as next month's Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona. James Fisher, LG's senior vice president, said: "Through our collaboration with Google, we launched the LG Nexus 4 smartphone. This is the first of many devices to come from our growing partnership with this very selective company." ![]() via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNEXaJ6EJz1Jfia71x37YQNu1Hw4OA&url=http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/google/9815383/LG-blames-Google-for-Nexus-4-shortage.html | |||
