On the 40th anniversary of the mobile phone, here we bring you a list of iconic phones, which had once dominated the phone market. Nokia 3310: This phone seems to be the default first phone for many users who purchased their first mobile in the early 2000s. Immensely popular with legendary sturdiness, we know of people who still own and use their 3310, more than a decade after their first bought it. Nokia N-gage: The phone meets gaming. Though the device could not meet with the high sales figures of other Nokia devices, it find a mention on our list because of its innovativeness and this phone did have a dedicated following. Nokia E90 Communicator: There was a time when Nokia ruled the roost in the mobile phone market and in the first half of 2007, that is before the Apple iPhone made its arrival, it was the phone to flaunt. Sony Ericsson W600i: This bright orange phone was definitely a headturner at it time. It not only had a swivel design but also carried the stamp of Sony's legenday Walkman. It also included gaming features. In 2004, Motorola introduced the Razr V3 cellular phone, which was an ultraslim, metal-clad, quad-band flip phone. Measuring 13.9mm thin, the phone used aircraft-grade aluminium to achieve several design and engineering innovations. The original Razr is the best-selling clamshell phone ever. Motorola StarTac: On January 3, 1996, the company introduced StarTAC - then the world's lightest, smallest and first wearable phone. It was a flip mobile phone manufactured by Motorola. The StarTAC was the successor of the MicroTAC, a semi-clamshell design that had been launched in 1989. One of the key features of the Motorola StarTAC was SMS text messages. BlackBerry Pearl 8100: Much like Nokia BlackBerry had also seen better days and the BlackBerry Peral shone on Research In Motion's crown. The phone was aimed towards both business users and consumers. HTC Touch: Had the Apple iPhone not launched close to the HTC Touch's release, the phone would have had better sales figures to boast of. The Windows Mobile 6-powered phone could distinguish between a stylus and a finger. Samsung Galaxy S III: This is the third generation of the Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S III was sold at a much faster rate of 30 million in 5 months and 40 million in 7 months, after becoming a million seller in only 50 days after its release last May. Launched in 2007, Apple changed the definition of a smartphone. Speculations are rife the next-gen iPhone will come this summer. via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNFZrnCThlqOs4VXMvfqfTRihvn3SA&url=http://ibnlive.in.com/photogallery/13042.html | |||
